I.  What personal information we collect and how we use it

When you register for an account with us, place an order, interact with our digital content on your computer or mobile device or send us an enquiry, we will collect certain information from you. We will indicate whether this collection involves personal information and, if it does, whether providing your personal information is voluntary or mandatory for the service. Please be aware that where collection is mandatory, we may not be able to provide the relevant products or services to you if you do not provide that information to us.

1.1   Order process

If you place an order on our website, we will use your name, addresses and payment details to process and deliver your order, and to notify you of the status of your order.

We will also use your personal information to assess your creditworthiness and to prevent fraud. For this purpose, we may need to share your personal information with our credit rating providers. This is necessary for the purposes of our legitimate interests in ensuring we are not the victim of fraud and to protect our legal rights set out in the Terms and Conditions.

1.2   Customer account

If you sign up for an account, we will ask for your name, e-mail address and password. We will also collect the following information when you sign up for an account if you choose to provide it: gender, birth of date, and telephone number.

Your online customer account enables you to access, amend or update information regarding the personal data stored about you or to opt out of receiving Knomo newsletters. You can also register your Knomo ID (please see 3. Knomo ID product registration).

Please note that if you create a customer account, we may send you email communications about your account, recent purchases, products placed in your cart or in your wishlist without completing the checkout process.

1.3   Cookies

Our website uses cookies, as almost all websites do, to help provide you with the best experience we can. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile phone when you browse websites.

Our cookies help us to:

  • Make our website work as you would expect
  • Save you having to login every time you visit the site
  • Remember your settings during and between visits
  • Improve the security and speed of the site
  • Allow you to share pages with social networks such as Facebook

2.      Customer support

If you contact our Customer Service Team by email or phone, our Customer Service consultants may collect your personal information and use this information to identify you as a customer, help with your query, process your order, deliver products and services, process payments, update our records and to generally manage your account with us under our terms with you.

If you contact our Customer Service team by live chat from our website, you have the option to fill out name and email address in order to enable us to recontact you at a later date and for personalisation purposes. Please note that chat transcripts are recorded and will be retained for an unlimited time. If you provide your email address, you can request a transcript of your live chat session.

3.      Knomo ID product registration

The Knomo ID is a tag inside the bag with a unique ID number that relates to that bag. If lost, the finder can easily contact us with your unique code, and we will retrieve your Knomo and return it to you free of charge.

In order to register your Knomo ID, you will need to create a customer account where we will ask for your name, email address and password.

4.      Knomo Marketing

Knomo will never sell your personal information and only share it with external businesses as outlined in the section II. Who we share your personal information with or with your explicit prior consent for them to contact you for marketing purposes.

4.1   Knomo Newsletter

We can only send you Knomo newsletters with your consent. If you have provided your consent, we will send you Knomo newsletters by email and you can withdraw your consent at any time (see "Unsubscribe from Knomo updates" below).

If you choose to register to receive Knomo newsletters, we collect your email address (mandatory) and gender (voluntary). When registering for the newsletter, we also record the country / website association via which you subscribe to the newsletter.

Unsubscribe from Knomo updates:

You can stop receiving Knomo newsletters from us at any time:

  • Through your account settings
  • By clicking the unsubscribe link which is included on all email newsletters

Knomo will stop sending updates in respect of which you withdraw your consent within a reasonable period and in any event within 7 days of receiving your request, in order to allow sufficient time for the change to be administered.

Please note that if you opt out of receiving Knomo newsletters, we may still send you non-marketing communications such as emails about your account or purchases you have made from the website.

Opting out of receiving Knomo newsletter won’t delete any data, however you can ask for your personal information to be deleted (please see III. Your rights in relation to your personal information).

4.2   Knomo Surveys & Competitions

You may also have the opportunity to take part in competitions or other campaigns conducted by us. Where you are required to provide your personal data (e.g. your name, e-mail address, postal address, etc.) for the purpose of taking part in such competitions or campaigns, we will only use this data for the purposes of conducting the contest or other campaign and only in compliance with the applicable terms and conditions. If you have expressly consented to being sent newsletters, we will send newsletters to you as described in section 4.1. Neither your participation in a competition nor your chances of winning will be affected should you not consent to receiving newsletters or should you revoke your consent at a later time.

 

II. Who we share your personal information with

Knomo do not, and will not, sell any of your personal data to any third party.

In order for you to fully utilise the website and for us to be able to fulfil your order, we do need to share certain data with service providers and other trusted third-party providers.

1.      Service providers

We may share your personal data with companies we have chosen to handle our order payment and dispatch service and with other companies that provide support services to us, including website hosting companies, marketing service providers and website analysis service providers.

1.1   Delivery companies:

We work with external delivery companies such as Hermes, DPD, UPS, Interpost and DHL to deliver orders. These shipping companies receive the following data to deliver your order and to be able to contact you with tracking information as well as on the delivery date if necessary:

  • Your name;
  • your delivery address;
  • your email address;
  • your phone numbers

1.2   Payment providers and credit checks

We work with external payment providers such as Klarna, SagePay and Paypal to process your order. These service providers receive the following data to help you complete your purchase and to prevent fraud and meet legal requirements:

  • Your name;
  • your billing address;
  • your delivery address (if different);
  • your email address;
  • your phone numbers
  • your date of birth (if you choose to provide it)

In order to offer you Klarna’s payment methods, we might in the checkout pass your personal data in the form of contact and order details to Klarna, in order for Klarna to assess whether you qualify for their payment methods and to tailor those payment methods for you. Your personal data transferred is processed in line with Klarna’s own privacy notice.

2.      Authorities and law enforcement

Knomo may also be required to forward certain personal data to third parties in cases where this is required by law or under the legislation. Such parties may include legal and law enforcement, courts, government authorities if required to comply with the law or for legal protection of our or our customers’ legitimate interests in compliance with applicable laws.

3.      International transfers of personal data

The personal information that you provide through the Website is processed in Ireland by Shopify International Ltd. and is stored on servers in the United States of America.

We will make sure that any transfers of your personal information from one country to another comply with those data protection and privacy laws which apply to us. European data protection laws, in particular, include specific rules on transferring personal information outside the EEA.

When transferring personal information outside the EEA, we will:

  • include standard data protection clauses approved by the European Commission for transferring personal information outside the EEA into our contracts with those third parties (these are the clauses approved under Article 46.2 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)); or
  • ensure that the country in which your personal information will be handled has been deemed "adequate" by the European Commission under Article 45 of the GDPR.

4.      Social networks

Our website provides you with social plug-ins from various social networks.

If you choose to interact with a social network such as Facebook or Twitter (for example for sharing a product with your friends), your activity on our website will also be made available to that social network.

If you are logged in on one of these social networks during your visit to one of our websites or apps or are interacting with one of the social plug-ins, the social network might add this information to your respective profile on this network based on your privacy settings.

If you would like to prevent this type of data transfer, please log out of your social network account before you enter our websites. Please read the privacy policies of those social networks for detailed information about the collection and transfer of personal information, what rights you have and how you can maintain suitable privacy settings for your needs.

 

III. Your rights in relation to your personal information

Where possible, we give you control over the personal information we collect about you, to ensure it is accurate and reflects your preferences. According to applicable data protection law, you have rights in relation to your personal information. You have the right to:

  • request rectification of your personal data if the information is incorrect;
  • request the erasure of your personal data in certain circumstances
  • object to processing of your personal data in certain circumstances
  • revoke any given consent to the collection and use of data with future effect;
  • object to direct marketing;
