Post pandemic life in the UK has seen unemployment rates rise and that is why for international women's day, we sent a selection of our bags over to Smart Works Reading
A volunteer led organisation, based in the Thames Valley that assists marginalised women into employment through supplying office appropriate workwear, accessories, and interview coaching.
Smart Works is founded on the premise of supporting and empowering women through life's crucial moments. Clients are referred to the charity through various organisations including youth care, mental health services, refugee centres and homeless shelters.
The success of the organisation speaks for itself. Since opening their doors in 2015, they have provided over 1800, dressing and coaching sessions, assisting over 730 clients into employment. In the past year alone, 70% of the women who were supported by smart works were successful in finding employment.
Smart Works provides their clients with an invaluable opportunity, where women can find their confidence, hone their skillset, and reignite their self-belief. You can support the charity by donating clothes, making a financial contribution, or volunteering your time.
